Giving Sound To Feelings & Carving His Name In Musical History

Your Most Memorable Moments?
"Playing in front of Sting in Las Vegas, then the very first time my mum watched the show 'Le Reve' in front of 2000 people and how proud she was, and another in Manchester where the audience was singing along my own songs: that was incredible."

rob falsini about me thumbnail 1Like several other musicians in the UK, following his heart to sing for the love of music, Rob moved to London for a breakthrough. A breakthrough is an understatement for what followed: During one of Rob's street performance at the popular Covent Garden, his version of Chasing Cars by Snow Patrol was captured by a tourist and posted on social media. So brilliant is his talent that it has viewed by over 25 million people across the globe, only topped by Snow Patrol their self. But this is not the only serendipitous experience that Rob has had on the fateful street of Covent Garden. He elaborates saying, "The composer of the show of 'Le Reve' in Las Vegas, Benoit Jutras had a flat there and one day he came by and offered me the job of lead singer for Le Reve." The months and years that followed have given Rob some fond memories to cherish.

With no formal training save for three short months of learning bass guitar, Rob acquired and honed his skills while on the job. His professional performances have been his training. Rob believes that for him performing is vital; and hence, the thought of taking up any other profession never crossed his mind, other than babysitting to buy his first guitar when he was 16. As Rob speaks of his teen years, it sounds similar to the story line of Brian Adam's all-time hit 'Summer of '69', playing in a band, performing whenever he had the chance to, writing a love song called 'Sweet Lady of Night' about his then girlfriend.

Those ten years long gone, Rob has grown into an incredible and well acknowledged singer who considers songwriting very important, and has lost call of the number of songs he has written. Rob says "My songs are rather personal in general, only rarely I write thinking as if I were someone else."

When asked about how difficult it is to produce one's own album, Rob says "the problem is the money. The artist's side I find it quite simple and exciting, but finding the money to pay for the studio and for the musicians is tough." Speaking from his own experience, he shares "Some albums I have done I have recorded them in my own studio trying to play all instruments, and maybe asking for help for some tracks. Of course the result is not the same. But if you are patient and work hard you can still make a decent album even without going into a professional studio."

To date Rob has several CDs available of original material, of either his solo show or with his band. He is currently working on the next album in between touring and of course working in his favourite place giving him inspiration, Covent Garden.

rob falsini about me thumbnail 3Rob has traveled the globe performing on tours, festivals and private gigs. Canada is one of his favourite places and throughout Europe playing numerous festivals, even Morocco and a usual stint in Spain at the Villamartin Plaza each year headlining amongst the big stars playing there and even opening for Leo Sayer in 2018. Rob's heartfelt joy for music takes him where ever people listen. He plays from his heart to their heart and that is his audience.

With the insight Rob has gathered over the years, playing his heart out at small gigs and while busking, he says "to be a believable musician, one has to perform the music they love." He further adds "close your eyes and let it out. People are not interested in perfection, they all look for emotions to share and only by playing something you love or 'feel' you can then let out these emotions. If you do so there's always going to be someone around you who feels the same as you and that someone will truly listen to you."
